Springer Nature – Virtual Storytelling Workshops
A case study
The need
Springer Nature has extraordinary stories at the heart of the research they publish and promote, with exceptional abilities in explaining what the research is about. However, these stories are often hidden behind the facts and figures in support of findings, rather than utilising the power of story. To spread the word of the brilliant research, Springer Nature asked just add water to help increase the storytelling capabilities of their people.
Our role
We designed and facilitated a series of online sessions for cohorts to explore, intimately, how the power of storytelling can help Springer Nature research connect to the hearts and minds of theid audiences, creating compelling and heartfelt narratives which people buy in to. We focused on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of storytelling, why is story so important in the context of Springer Nature? And how exactly can we build out compelling stories?
The outcome
Through two workshops, in groups no larger than 12 participants were provided with an intimate and powerful conversational workshop on the power of story. Colleagues were given the opportunity to practice and apply their knowledge to their own real examples to begin building powerful stories. The workshops were support with an e-pdf playbook containing frameworks and toolkits to support key activities throughout the workshop, and ensuring learning continued past our time together.
“Thanks so much. A really polished and engaging session. Bravo”
